Biography
Kelly Washbourne is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (Ph.D.), the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (M.A.), and is currently Professor of Spanish. He teaches interpreting, and has led children's biliteracy and recreation programs in Hispanophone communities in Northeast Ohio. His projects at 91ֿ have included service missions to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, and he is working on various initiatives related to cosmpolitan competence, interculturality, and linguistic human rights, in addition to developing language for the professions and community-oriented courses and internships. He has taught at Amherst College, Penn State, Middlebury College, and UNC Charlotte.
