Nonstandard Machines
Faculty members that wish to order non-standard machines will be allotted a $600 credit toward the purchase. A Non-standard machine is defined as: A desktop or laptop computer manufactured by any maker other than Dell, Apple or Microsoft, or a custom device by one of these approved manufacturers that is from a non-enterprise line of computers. All computers must be from a reputable manufacturer, include a minimum 4-year warranty, and be manageable through University-supported imaging, patching and encryption platforms. It is recommended that non-standard machine purchases are from vendors 91²Ö¿â already has relationships with vua Flashcard punchout, including Dell, Apple, and Microsoft. The specifications (processor, hard drive, RAM, warranty, etc.) must meet or exceed those listed for the standard models.
Departments ordering a computer other than the standard models or upgraded standard models should submit a valid quotation from the preferred supplier via their local support professional. Please include the departmental, non-grant, index that the overage should be charged to. Send this information to your local support person, who has access to our Faculty Refresh team and can request these devices on behalf your Academic Unit. Please note that computer refresh orders must be placed by the Faculty Refresh Group. Departments should not place orders directly.
All computers will be received and inventoried by the Faculty Refresh Group and then delivered to the faculty member. Any cost over the standard $600 allowance will be charged to the index specified.
