Study Abroad and Away Scholarships

The Honors College has several scholarships available exclusively to Honors College students to support their participation in study abroad and away programs. The program must be 4 weeks or longer, with preference for 91²Ö¿â affiliated programs. The student must be in good academic standing with the Honors College and the University, and the student must have successfully completed at least one honors course.

These awards are competitive. Applications can be found in the University’s ScholarshipUniverse portal. Sign into ScholarshipUniverse using your Flashline credentials, complete your student profile, and answer embedded questionnaires to identify eligible scholarships. You may also use the Search box in the upper righthand corner of ScholarshipUniverse to search and apply for these specific Honors College scholarships:

  • Bengier Study Abroad Scholarship Fund

  • Honors College Casale Study Abroad Spendable Fund

    • Specifically for students studying abroad in Florence for four weeks or more.
  • Honors College Study Abroad Fund

  • McMillan-Teti Endowed Award for Honors Students in Washington Program for National Issues

    • Specifically for students studying away in Washington D.C. as a participant in the Washington Program for National Issues (WPNI).
    • Eligible students should express their interest in this award to both their Honors College advisor and the WPNI Program Coordinator. The application is not available in ScholarshipUniverse.

All Honors College study abroad or away scholarship applications are available starting February 1, 2025. Applications for students seeking support for Summer 25 programs are due by April 1, 2025. Applications for students seeking support for Fall 25 and Spring 26 programs are due by May 1, 2025.

The Honors College reserves the right to cancel any scholarship award if, for whatever reason, the study abroad or away program is cancelled by 91²Ö¿â and/or the United States Federal Government.
