The 91²Ö¿â School of Art Collection and Galleries will present multiple exhibitions this spring that showcase student artwork. These exhibitions include the Student Annual (March 19 - May 1, 2021), 15 M.F.A Thesis Exhibitions (March 23 - April 2, 2021), and 20 B.F.A Thesis Exhibitions (April 6-8, 2021), all focusing on School of Art undergraduate and graduate students. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.
The Student Annual, the School of Art’s annual juried show, will include artwork selected by guest juror Claudia Berlinski, Director of the McDonough Museum of Art at Youngstown State University. The show, consisting of selected works created by School of Art majors, minors and graduate students in a variety of media, will be on view March 19 - May 1, 2021 at the KSU Downtown Gallery, located at 141 E. Main St. in downtown Kent. The guest juror will also select prizes in several categories.
Week 1 (March 23-25): Simon Tatum, Jennifer Masley, Jody Vankeuren, Katie Butler, Susana Harris, Katlyn Baird, Tara Segars
Week 2 (March 30-April 2): Emily Bartolone, Meagan Smith, Maria Camera-Smith, Kellie Sylvester, Claire Bowman, Kathryn Simmons, Matthew Kurtz, Gilbert Sutherland
The 2021 BFA Thesis Exhibitions consist of 20 students, working in a variety of media. The graduating students will have their capstone bodies of artwork on display in gallery spaces throughout the entire Center for the Visual Arts. The exhibition will be on view April 6-8, 2021.
Students majoring in a variety of disciplines of studio art will have their work on display during this exhibition, including ceramics, drawing, jewelry/metals/enameling, painting, print media and photography, sculpture and expanded media, and textiles.
Exhibiting artists include: Xingzi Wu, Shannon Welsh, Audrey Bishop, Nicholas Lee, Devin Dollison, Thalia Arias Gonzalez, Hugh McPeek, Veronica Rigo, Qiaoling Ni, Kasey Kania, Eva Polzer, Griffin Allman, Maxxwell Marshall, Milo Schumann, Bethany Skidmore- Stutzman, Erin Dovishaw, Emmie Troyer, Ajdin Kulic, and Katelyn Rossello.
The Center for the Visual Arts is located at 325 Terrace Drive in Kent, Ohio.

Parking: Hourly paid parking is available on Terrace Dr. and in the R2 lot adjacent to the Business Administration Building located next to the Center for the Visual Arts. Parking is also available at the Kent Student Center visitor's lot, located in front of the Student Center on Summit Street. Visitor parking is available for a maximum rate of $6 per visit.

91²Ö¿â the School of Art: The School of Art at 91²Ö¿â was established in 1941 and maintains a tradition of excellence in visual arts education, creation, scholarship and leadership. Its undergraduate and graduate programs in the visual arts offer a range of directions and opportunities in the fields of art education, art history, and studio art, which includes a comprehensive array of studio disciplines: ceramics, drawing, glass, jewelry/metals/enameling, painting, print media and photography, sculpture and expanded media, and textiles. The School of Art Collection and Galleries consist of six exhibition spaces located on the Kent campus and downtown Kent and a collection of over 4,000 artworks and objects. The School of Art is located at the Center of the Visual Arts at 325 Terrace Dr. in Kent. The 27,900-square-foot facility — twice the length of a football field — had its grand opening in 2016 and houses all School of Art studios and classrooms under one roof.
