91²Ö¿â Launched New Website Home Page and University-wide Masthead This Month

With a new semester fast approaching, 91²Ö¿â community members are focusing on new projects and initiatives, and welcoming and nurturing our new students, as well as already resetting to foster and strengthen recruiting efforts for the incoming 2019 class.

Just as supporting student success and recruitment efforts evolve, so too, must one of the university’s main communication tools – the website. To heighten its alignment with university-wide recruitment efforts, University Communications and Marketing and the Division of Information Services partnered to launch a more recruitment-focused website last week.

In a snapshot, these condensed institutional and Regional Campus home pages now feature more prominent access to content that is of the greatest importance to prospective students, such as the application process, campus visit opportunities, degree and major information, and tuition figures. Website visitors will also see increased visibility of facts and figures, which are often tied to points of pride or commonly asked questions.

Additionally, all homepages and departmental webpages now share a shortened masthead, allowing more information to appear above the fold or higher on the web browser screen. This was enabled by transitioning to an icon-based utility bar, with labels that pop up on the hover for quick access to the heavily used FlashLine login page, the calendars page with access to the academic calendar, the online directory, maps and directions, and search.

All enhancements folded into this homepage redesign and modified university-wide masthead were informed by market research with prospective students and parents, as well as current faculty and staff, representative of the entire university community.
