2016 Celebrating College Teaching Conference – Proposal Deadlines Extended

The 23rd annual Celebrating College Teaching conference will take place Oct. 20-21 at the Kent Student Center. The University Teaching Council’s annual conference focuses on the four pillars of a 91²Ö¿â undergraduate curriculum — knowledge, insight, responsibility and engagement.

The proposal deadline for the Celebrating College Teaching conference has been extended for Roundtables, Posters and Lightning Rounds until Aug. 15, 2016. Although all faculty, graduate students and other personnel are invited to apply, you are obligated to present at this conference if you were funded by the University Teaching Council in the past year.

Please visit the University Teaching Council website to find the 2016 annual conference link and the guidelines for submission. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kimberly Peer, Ph.D., at kpeer@kent.edu. The 91²Ö¿â Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed 91²Ö¿â in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, 91²Ö¿â remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
