A senior lecturer in the Human Development and Family Science program, Kathy Bergh received the Faculty Recognition Award by the University Teaching Council.
Kathy Bergh joined the faculty of 91²Ö¿â in 2000 as an adjunct faculty member. In addition to serving as a non-tenure track senior lecturer, she currently serves as the program director for the minor in Nonprofit Studies.
An anonymous student wrote the following about Kathy:
"Professor Bergh sincerely and seriously cares about her students. She is a kind soul who wants what's best for us and is a great listener if you are ever having a bad day. She inspired me to reach outside of my comfort zone and without that push I don't think I would have gotten where I am today. I am so grateful I had the pleasure of meeting her, and if she's reading this, Thank you for showing me compassion and kindness. I went through a lot these past two years and you were the only professor who reached back out to me to check in and see if I was ok. That simple gesture meant the world to me. I will miss your classes the most."
Students are encouraged to nominate instructors for an Instructor Recognition Award. These awards are an opportunity to highlight all 91²Ö¿â instructors who have motivated, engaged, and inspired their students. Nominees will receive a certificate of recognition at the annual UTC Conference.
