In September 2015, 91²Ö¿â’s College of Public Health was awarded a $357,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through its Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to fund Project AWARE Kent. One of the main purposes of Project AWARE Kent was to train 720 students, faculty, and staff in Mental Health First Aid (a class that trains you to assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis). In January 2018, Project AWARE exceeded its goal and has now trained 730 students, faculty, and staff in Mental Health First Aid.
