We invite high school students and their families to visit the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for Explore Kent Chemistry Day on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 11:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. High school juniors and seniors come from all over Ohio and neighboring states for Explore Kent Chemistry Day!
At Explore Kent Chemistry Day, our chemistry and biochemistry Faculty will discuss our curriculum, career prospects with our degrees and research opportunities available to undergraduates. Current 91²Ö¿â chemistry and biochemistry majors will provide insight into 91²Ö¿â college life. We will participate in science demonstrations and take a tour of our state-of-the-art instructional and research laboratories. The visit will conclude with a question-and-answer gathering where attendees will have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with faculty and students about anything 91²Ö¿â and Chemistry! The day is broken into two blocks by a pasta buffet lunch in the student center’s Schwebel Room.
All prospective student attendees will have an opportunity at one of two EXCLUSIVE $1000 Chair’s Scholarships to study chemistry at 91²Ö¿â, awarded only to attendee applicants. You won’t want to miss this!
This event is programmed to let students decide what they want to learn more about. There are three different pathways to choose from. All cover the same information but the Pre-Med track allows students to talk with NEOMED College of Medicine, NEOMED Pharmacy Program, and College of Podiatric Medicine. A student can choose between CHEM and BIOCHEM, which are similar, and the Pre-Med track. Parents and guardians welcome. Please contact Olivia in the Undergraduate Office 330-672-2405 to request accessibility accommodation. We are dedicated to making chemistry accessible to all.
