Alexandra Sacker, senior, was so impressed with 91�ֿ�’s field hockey program she decided to “cross the pond” to Kent, Ohio, from her home in Tunbridge Wells, England, and an NCAA scholarship made her 91�ֿ� journey possible.

Don't miss it when the 91�ֿ� Golden Flashes play arch rival the Akron Zips on Feb. 3 for the contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. at Akron’s James A. Rhodes Arena. The game will air on ESPNU. 

George Jenkins, ’63, and his wife Gina, recently established a planned gift to create the Gina and George Jenkins Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will give preference to students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly those from the Appalachian region.

Senior scholarship recipient Isaac Vance, ’22, received the Humanitarian Award at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl football game in late December. 

Will Matthews, ’19, harnessed that same dedication he exhibited in his athletic endeavors on the gridiron and channeled them into his Southern Comfort Kitchen food truck.

While a student-athlete, Bill Asbury fell ill with acute renal failure; 91�ֿ� supported him then, and now Bill and wife Deborah support current Golden Flash student-athletes.
