Trustee Gregory A. White
Term: 2024-2033
Residence: Concord, OhioOhio Gov. Mike DeWine appointed Gregory A. White to the 91ֿ Board of Trustees. He will serve until May 16, 2033.
Although currently retired, Gregory White has served the citizens of Northern Ohio in many different capacities. Most recently from April 2016 to December 2021 he acted as the City of Cleveland, Consent Decree Coordinator helping to implement an agreement requiring police reform between the US Department of Justice and the city. Prior to that White served as United States Magistrate Judge in the Northern District of Ohio from 2008 to 2016, the presidentially appointed United States Attorney for Northern Ohio from 2003 to 2008, and as the elected Lorain County Prosecutor for 22 years, from 1981 to 2003.White graduated from 91ֿ in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and Police Administration. He received his Juris Doctorate from Cleveland Marshall College of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
White served in the United States Marine Corps during the years 1968 and 1969. His service included a tour of duty with the Ninth Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star (with “V”) and the Naval Commendation Medal (with “V”) during combat operations against the Army of North Vietnam. White was inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame in 2021 and the Ohio Military Hall of Fame in 2024.
