Flash Medical Center Brings Students to Campus for Unique Healthcare Experience

The success and growing popularity of 91²Ö¿â at Ashtabula's Flash Medical Center simulation over the past seven years led to addition of a second event during the 2023-2024 academic year. The unique, hands-on hospital simulation that allows area high school students interested in healthcare careers to experience a "day in the life" of an allied health professional welcomed a new group of participants on Feb. 16, 2024 at Robert S. Morrison Hall.

While each simulation features a new event in which a patient suffers an injury that necessitates a hospital visit, the most recent edition featured additional sessions for new academic programs in medical assisting and social work.

Tiffany Kiphart, PTA, AT (Ret), M.Ed., academic program director for the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Ashtabula and East Liverpool, recently spoke with Gazette Newspapers to discuss the February simulation
