CPT Dan Mueller
Biography
Captain Daniel Mueller enlisted in the US Army in October 1997. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Benning, GA in February 1998. Dan served as a Mechanized Infantryman for the 1st of the 30th Infantry Battalion from February 1998 through June 2001, completing Operation Brightstar an international training event in Egypt in October of 2000. Dan commissioned through the Officer Candidate School (OCS) in June 2001 becoming a Field Artillery Officer stationed at Ft. Sill, OK. Upon completion of Officer Basic Course, Dan was assigned to 3rd of the 13th Field Artillery Battalion (MLRS) and completed a rotation to the National Training Center, Ft. Irwin, CA in February 2002. Dan left the Army from 2004-2008 where he worked for PPG Inc. as a Manager of Environmental Services and Transportation. He returned to the Army National Guard as a Logistics Officer where he worked as the Recruiting Operations Officer for Youngstown State while also being the Company Commander of the 1485th Transportation Company from, 2008-2010. In June of 2010 Dan become went on Active Guard reserve duty and was assigned as the 112th Transportation Battalion operations officer (S2/3). In 2011 Dan was called up for deployment to Afghanistan where he served as the Battle Captain for the 237th Brigade Support Battalion in RC North. Upon return he has worked in operations as the Assistant Operations Officer for the 37th Special Troops battalion, 37th IBCT, and the Battalion S3 for the 237th Brigade Support Battalion.
In addition to a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University, he holds a masters degree in management from Webster University, and has completed Phase 1 of Intermediate Level Education from the US Army's Command and General Staff School. Dan is married to Hillary Briney and they have one daughter and a son, Logan (9), and Lauren (12). He currently resides in North Canton, Ohio where he enjoys outdoor sports, and spending time with family traveling.
