Volunteer Position(s) with KSUAA: I have volunteered for the past seven years. Currently, I am the Arizona Alumni Chapter communications chair.
Why is volunteering with KSUAA important to you? What motivates you to volunteer?
Being able to connect alumni who may be far from home is important to me.
Why did you choose to attend 91²Ö¿â?
My aunt was an alumna and I was blessed to have earned a full academic scholarship.
What are your favorite memories at 91²Ö¿â?
Being on the All Campus Programming Board (ACPB) and running events was fun! I loved my business advisor, Liz Sinclair Colando. She was an inspiration to me all four years at Kent. I also loved the dorm life at Lake Hall!
What were you involved in as a student?
I served on the ACPB, Senate Allocations Committee and American Marketing Association (AMA).
What is your favorite event you participated in as a volunteer?
The annual Alumni Day of Service is my favorite event every year. The hard work combined with sharing memories and making a difference in our community makes for a tremendous and memorable event every time.
What is your proudest accomplishment(s) as a volunteer?
Hosting the largest regional alumni chapter event at the Reds VS. Indians Spring Training game. I am so proud of all the effort put into it by our volunteers and grateful for alumni who attended to make it a marquee event for our chapter!
What advice would you share with someone looking to volunteer with KSUAA?
You do not have to sign up for everything, but do try new events. You can never really know which ones will bring you joy until you are there with your fellow Flashes!
