Yvette and David

A Love of Priority

Our Story
David and I met as student leaders in 2007 through our involvement in student organizations, in what is currently the Center for Student Involvement. We quickly became best friends. In 2009 after my divorce, we began dating, and have lived together ever since.

The Proposal and Marriage
He hasn’t officially proposed just yet but we are making our wedding plans for some time in 2015 after we both finish graduate school. David is majoring in sustainable engineering while I’m majoring in clinical mental health counseling. We are in a domestic partnership.

Staying connected to 91²Ö¿â today
Since both of us work on campus, we stay connected that way as well as through Latino/Hispanic events. I received the inaugural award for outstanding Latino/Hispanic alumni in 2011, in the area of community service and leadership. I work in CSI and assist with all homecoming parade applications as well as the parade lineup. David is very supportive. He knows and values my desire to be involved with the Latino/Hispanic community at KSU.
