“It is said that knowledge is power, and I want to become as powerful as I can be in order to enact positive change in whatever fields I end up in and wherever I am in the world. Right now, I do everything in my power to make every 91ֿ student feel welcomed, supported and important.”

From the moment Marisa Stephens step foot on 91ֿ’s campus it felt like home, allowing her to make the most of her college career. Currently, Marisa is a resident assistant while serving as president of Kent Student Ambassadors and I’m that KSU Girl. She has held many other leadership opportunities serving on Kent Interhall Council, College of Business Administration Career Services Advisory Council, Beta Gamma Sigma, the honorary business society, just to name a few. In addition to her leadership roles, she traveled with the university to Nicaragua and Europe.

Marisa says one of her most memorable experiences was serving as a flashguide mentoring freshmen students and their families. “It gave me and extreme amount of hope to see that so many dedicated and passionate students would be joining the flash family and gave me an immense sense of pride to be surrounded by people who would make a difference in the world after graduation.”

Upon graduation in May 2018, Marisa hopes to obtain a job in her field and is exploring the non-profit sector.
