“I help people realize that we all have the ability to make a difference in the world. I instill kindness and compassion through community service projects so my students will do their part to help others that are less fortunate. I also help organizations raise money to help the many great causes they support.”

Paul Beatty, ’87, has a history of giving back to the community. His commitment to service began in high school when he was a member of the Lewiston Porter Key Club. His involvement continued at 91ֿ where he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity, serving as treasurer, president and social chairman. In 1987, he received the 91ֿ Service Award for his leadership role on Inter-Greek Council.

Today, he is the owner of one of the premier timing companies in the country, Race Management Solutions, Inc. His company provides timing & finish line services for running events, including the Mighty Niagara Half Marathon, which was founded by Beatty as a fundraising event to benefit Niagara Hospice. This past year, his family reached a fundraising milestone as proceeds from the two events they manage – the Mighty Niagara Half Marathon and the Jack Beatty Hospice Memorial Regatta – surpassed the $1,000,000 mark. His team continues to raise over $130,000 annually at these two events.

Beatty is also an inspiring 4th grade teacher at Tuscarora Elementary School and plays a big role in encouraging students to give back to their community. “We go Christmas caroling at our local nursing home, package food baskets for needy families, and raise money for a variety of charities. We try to make all of the experiences meaningful and fun,” Beatty says. Over the years his students have donated over $10,000 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by participating in their annual Penny Drive. Beatty also organizes the annual Tuscarora Bike Rodeo & Fun Day. Since starting the event some 13 years ago, Paul has been able to arrange for the funding of over 220 new bikes to be donated to students in need. He also arranges for Christmas gifts to be delivered by Santa to every student at the school and has sent 45 students to Kamp Kiwanis summer camp.

Beatty currently lives in Youngstown, NY with his wife and four children including one daughter who is a sophomore at 91ֿ in the Honors College.
